查看所有Cherry Tree Hill Views from Cherry Tree Hill back to Santosha and down the East Coast are world famousSt. Nicholas Abbey Built in 1658, this Jacobean Great House is only one of three existing in the Western Hemisphere. The Property has been tastefully restored as a sustainable heritage attraction and working plantation, producing its own unique single cask rums, which has received international acclaim. The tour includes the Great House, gardens, small museum, factory, distillery, not to be missed short movie circa 1930 and rum tasting. For the enthusiast, the private Rum Experience Tour, is bookable on select days with owner, Larry Warren. We also operate an authentic Victorian steam railway on the plantation.Morgan Lewis Windmill One of the largest and only complete sugar windmill surviving in the Caribbean. The wind-driven machinery that ground the sugarcane in the 18th and 19th centuries is still intact but the mill is not operational. The mill includes an exhibit of the equipment used to produce sugar at the time when the industry was run by wind-power generated from mills such as this one. The rubble walls are comprised of boulders held together with a mixture of egg-white and coral dust (there was no cement when this plantation house was built!)Morgan Lewis stands on approximately 3, 000 square feet of gently sloping land, approximately one half of the way between the top of Cherry Tree Hill to the west and Shorey Village to the east.Walkers Beach One of the most unspolit beaches in the Caribbean. You can walk here on your own most days but watch out for the leatherback turtle nests. Leave only your footprints in the sand.Bathsheba Rugged, scenic beach with dramatic rock formations, known as a destination for surfing at its world famous Soup Bowl break.Andromeda Botanic Gardens Garden with self-guided walks through 6 acres planted with tropical plants, flowers & trees.Mount Gay Rum Distillery HISTORIC DISTILLERY TOURSVisit the original landscape and buildings where it all began, back in 1703. Stretch your legs and take a easy walk up the hill to this very instagramable spot.Cove Bay Take in the beautiful views from this rustic part of Barbados. You can see Pico Teneriff from the north side and compare it to the southern view you get of it from Santosha.Cuckold Point Another great viewing point. The word cuckold refers to a husband who is being unfaithful to his wife, and is often considered to be a target of ridicule. The term comes from the Old French word cucu, which means "cuckoo". The female equivalent of cuckold is cuckquean, which first appeared in English literature in 1562.Hunts Gardens Very famous lush, exotic landscaped gardens located in the middle of Caribbean rainforest. You might hear this garden before you see it, its delightfully eccentric owner, Anthony Hunte BCH, plays classical music throughout the garden. This is the working end of old Castle Grant plantation, where sugar cane was once processed into syrup. Step through the gate and you'll soon tread on the old weigh bridge, where loads of cane were tallied. Just past the old stone outbuildings, where statues lurk among exotic plants, you'll find yourself on the lip of a great, hemispherical sinkhole in the limestone substrate. Steps lead down and paths branch out through an exquisite profusion of flowering plants, with towering trees around the edges. Both here and farther along the top are a series of small secret gardens, where you can sit to absorb the serenity and enjoy a picnic. Be sure to climb the upper level steps to Mr. Hunte's house, a transformation of the old stables. He'll invite you for refreshments-including his legendary rum punch or freshly made lemonade (for sale).Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park Harrison's Cave, a longtime favorite for its stunning tram tours through crystalline limestone caverns, has been reimagined into Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park. This expansion introduces a day's worth of new activities set amidst Barbados’ natural splendor. Nature trails, bird aviaries, and a pool offer diverse ways to explore and relax. The park blends the awe of underground explorations with the island's rich culture and lush landscapes for a comprehensive experience of Barbadian beauty.
